Hola Latinx!
LDI is back and in full swing. We decided to take a summer hiatus to regroup, reorganize, and come back stronger than ever.
As a team, we are so excited to promote visibility in the debate community. Visibility is now our priority! For every national tournament, each of our event representatives will highlight latinx debaters making strides in their events. We want to include every competitor so if you want to get involved, please email any one of our team members (found on Our Team tab) to see how you can help!
My personal favorite part of LDI is our community blog, Cafe con Leche Conversaciones blog. You can expect weekly blog posts about anything related to latinx, from real world politics to in-round advice. Stay tuned for when we open applications for staff writers!
Our newest addition to LDI's plan is to expand our mentoring internationally! We want to reach latinx students in South and Central America, building important relationships, public speaking, and debate skills. We are already working with Model United Nations teams in Venezuela, working with them online to teach them the ropes on all things public speaking. If you are interested or know a school that can use our help, please contact any event representative!
Overall, LDI's mission is simple. We want visibility, awareness, and to build a community of like-minded people. The team and I are ready to kick off this debate season with orgullo, fuerza, and pasión!
